Word Counter Pro

This application is a professional-grade writing utility designed for anyone who works with text. By providing immediate feedback on text metrics and AI-powered sentiment analysis, it bridges the gap between a simple counter and a full writing assistant.

Who is this for?

  • Students & Academics: Perfect for sticking to strict word counts on essays and ensuring your academic tone is consistent.

  • Professional Writers & Bloggers: Helps in optimizing article length for SEO and readability.

  • Public Speakers: Use the “Speaking Time” estimation to ensure your presentation fits perfectly within your allotted time slot.

  • Copywriters & Marketers: Use the AI Tone Analysis to ensure your marketing copy “sounds” the way you intended before you hit publish.

How to use it

  1. Type or Paste: Simply start typing in the large central editor or paste text from your clipboard.

  2. Monitor Stats: Watch the top bar update in real-time. It tracks Words, Characters, Sentences, Lines, and Paragraphs.

  3. Analyze Tone: Click the “Analyze Tone” button at the top right of the editor. Our AI will process your text and provide a specific mood descriptor (e.g., “Analytical”, “Enthusiastic”, “Formal”).

  4. Check Timing: Look at the bottom cards to see how long it would take the average person to read your text silently versus speaking it aloud.

  5. Toggle Theme: Use the switch in the header to jump between a high-contrast Light mode and a focused Dark mode.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How accurate are the time estimations?
Reading time is calculated at an average of 225 words per minute (WPM), and speaking time at 140 WPM. While individual speeds vary, these are the industry standards for professional pacing.

  • Does the character count include spaces?
Yes, the character count reflects every keystroke, including spaces and punctuation, to ensure you comply with strict character limits (like those on social media or metadata).

  • Is my text being saved?
Your text is processed locally in your browser. It is not saved to any database. Only when you click “Analyze Tone” is the text briefly sent to the AI for processing.

  • What counts as a “Sentence”?
The app identifies sentences based on terminal punctuation marks (. ! ?) followed by whitespace or the end of the text.
